Andrea is a senior communications professional who has provided strategic communications leadership and advice in Atlantic Canada over her long career. She brings a broad understanding of public relations and business issues to OFI, and a keen appreciation for the potential of our ocean and the blue economy.
She also brings an understanding of the consequences of climate change-induced severe weather, developed during crisis communication response necessitated by Hurricane Dorian, and, two years later, communicating about the federal government’s Hurricane Fiona Recovery Fund.
The ability to draw on these experiences and insights, to indulge her love of the ocean, and to work with a fantastic team, is truly a career highpoint for Andrea, and why her role supporting the goals and objectives of OFI is so meaningful to her.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Public Relations (BPR) from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax and is an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC). Andrea enjoys sailing, skiing, and travelling, and is a member of two book clubs. She loves living in Atlantic Canada, appreciating its wonderful communities and incredible features - especially the ocean.
