Always having an interest in the marine environment, Tamara moved to Halifax to attend Dalhousie University where she acquired a BSc in Marine Biology/Environmental Science and a Master of Marine Management. A curiosity for ocean technology then led her to complete the NSCC Ocean Technology program.
Tamara joined the RIU in the spring of 2022 as a field technician after previously working for MEOPAR. She will maintain and operate high frequency radar systems (CODAR) and assist with additional field logistics and operations.
Dalhousie University operates in the unceded territories of the Mi’kmaw, Wolastoqey, and Peskotomuhkati Peoples. These sovereign nations hold inherent rights as the original peoples of these lands, and we each carry collective obligations under the Peace and Friendship Treaties.
