Postville is home to about 180 people and is the smallest community in Nunatsiavut.
Kaipokok Bay is large and diverse in many ways. It homes species of fish such as salmon, arctic char, trout, smelt, capelin, cod fish, rock cod, and more.
Capelin have been rolling in on the shore again over the last few years, and smelt are also common!
Some of the oldest Inuit artifacts in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador have been found here.
Postville has a long road that was built for lumber harvesting. Today, it is used as a road that connects the community to various trapping and hunting trails, ponds, rivers, coves and other parts of Kaipokok Bay. This road also provides areas of land for people to build cabins if they wish.
