About

Natalie Perrin

Why are you involved on this project?

The OFI offers an excellent collaborative, transdisciplinary research environment and my goals and values align with those of the OFI. I am interested in conducting research in an ethical way and utilizing the traditional ecological knowledge of Indigenous communities. I also want to do research that is relevant to, and beneficial for, communities in Nunatsiavut.

How does your work relate to Nunatsiavut?

I will be studying the effects of climate change on species of commercial importance to fisheries in Nunatsiavut.

What is your favourite outdoor activity?

Hiking

What is your favourite place in the world?

My cottage in the North Kawarthas in Southern Ontario. I love being outside and at the cottage my family typically spends as much time as possible outdoors. The range of activities is also much greater than in the city and activity options change by season (i.e. canoeing/ kayaking, swimming, snorkeling in summer; cross-country skiing, snowshoeing in winter)!
